In modern society,physical appearance counts a great deal.Female features are emphasized and female bodies are completely sexualized.In Jelinek＇s novel,through sexualization,female becomes the very object of male＇s desire,the self-monitoring subject and the gender of subordinate.Disciplining of female body is the only self-practice sexual oppress,which reclaims the existing sex structure,protests any change or attempt to reverse the power relationship.By emphasizing female features,patriarchal society denies women＇s creativity and their rights of being individuals,thus induces them to remain in the subordinate status willingly,to give up any attempts to change the existing sex structure.
