现代化进程中的清风街是当下许多农村的缩影——面貌破败,精神匮乏。小说中几个主人公都是农耕文明某种精神气质的表征,但他们或在绝望中去世,或孤独而顽强地坚守,或遭遇不幸变故。这预示着延续数千年的农耕文明已经式微并渐渐走向消逝。没有答案,作者留给我们的只有如他一样的幽怨的愁绪。
