摘要
《醒世姻缘传》虽以描写两世姻缘为主,但却在"士风"与"官风"的描写上倾注了大量笔墨。这在以往的通俗小说创作中是不多见的。两世姻缘对"官场"的描写,侧重点有所不同。前者重在揭示官场升迁的规则,以及自上而下的官场贪酷;后者重在批评"纳监入官"的社会弊端,以及官场秩序的混乱和官场成员的腐朽无能。官场描写提升了《醒世姻缘传》的思想认识价值,并给后世的小说创作提供了有益的借鉴。
The Marriage Stories to Awaken Men mostly depicts love stories respectively happening in this world and the afterworld,but it also spares many words to describe the esquire fashion and the officialdom,which is seldom found in the previous popular novels.However,the two parts have put an emphasis on different aspects with stories of this world mainly describing the promotion and greed in the officialdom and those of the afterworld mainly focusing on abuses,bribery and impotence in the officialdom.The descriptions of the officialdom,while enriching the significance of the work,have artistically influenced the later novels.
