The special demands on updating the scientific level of party building in the PLA according to the important guidelines given by Hu Jintao,chairman of the Central Military Commission,are as follows： Guide party-building work with the fundamental innovation theory of the Party;forge the soul of the PLA by sticking to the absolute leadership of the party over the army;implement effectively the historical mission of the army in the new historical period;carry out the ＂striving for excellent performance＂ activity in a pragmatic,lasting,deepening and down-to-earth manner.
