Mobile digital library＇s service function currently has certain limitation and restricting factors. To achieve mobile digital library construction goals we should discuss its further expanding functions, including unified retrieval function, the full text reading function, document delivery function, personalized search function and background management functions. The realization of the functions relies on the construction of the unified search platform, unified systems and data formats for hand-held devices and mobile computing clouds of applications.
