摘要
以时间演进和技术发展为线索，回顾并分析了 ８０ 年代以来，美国电信业的发展历程，并对下个世纪的电信网—— Ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔ（ Ｉ Ｐ 网络）的发展进行了展望，这将对我国电信业的发展具有一定的借鉴意义。
Taking time evolution and technical development as its clues, this paper reviews and analyzes the course of American Telecommunications' development since 1980s, makes a prospect to the development of next century's telecommunication network. This will be used for reference to develop Telecommunications in China.
