摘要
多协议标记交换(MPLS)技术是ATM与Internet相结合最具代表性的一种模式.它支持IP,IPX等各种网络层协议,技术内容包括在路由器之间分配标记的协议、封装形式和组播、对主机行为的定义以及利用标记支持高层的资源预留和QoS.多协议标记交换不需要IP与ATM的地址解析,传送IP的效率较高,但如果与标准的ATM融合,需要将非标准的信令与标准的ATM信令进行映射,带来额外的开销.
Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) is the most representative integration model for AIM and Internet that supports IP, IPX and other network layer protocols. The technical contents include the protocols to assign label between routers, encapsulation pattern and multicasting, defining the behavior of the host and label supported up-layer resource reservation and QoS. MPLS transports IP with high efficiency and IP and ATM address resolution is not needed. When merging with standard ATM, non-standard signaling should be mapped with standard ATM signaling, however additional overhead is caused.
