移动接入Internet是Internet业务迅速友展的需求,也可望成为移动网新的业务增长点.然而,由于没有一套适用于移动通信体制的开放的Internet协议规范,致使移动Internet按入的应用和业务发展缓慢.1998年2月,无线应用协议(WMP)作为一个开放的、基于Internet标准的全球无线协议规范应运而生,它的出现樗恋着移动Interne标准的成熟,必将带来潜在的规模经济,推动移动Internet业务.整个移动数据通信的发展.中国的移动通信网规模居世界前列,它是一个包含多种通信体制的网络.Inter- net业务向移动网的延伸是正在发展且大有前景的事,因此,对WAP技术规范进行研究是意义重大的.

Mobile Internet access is the demand of rapid growing Internet service and is likely to become the new service increase point. However, the lack of open Internet protocols for mobile communications systems results in the slow progress of mobile Internet access. In Feb. 1998, WAP emerges as an open global wireless protocol based on Internet standards, which represents the mature of mobile Internet standards and will inevitably create potential scale economy and push forward the development of mobile Internet service and the whole mobile data communications . The scale of mobile communications networks in China holds the leading position in the world and several communications systems are adopted. The Internet service expansion towards mobile network enjoys bright future and is right in the focus, therefore the research on WAP specifications is of great significance.
