大学校训的文化价值传承取向及其育人理念——兼论国家教育行政学院校训之立意

On Cultural Value Orientation and Educational Philosophy Embodied in the School Motto and the Purpose of the Motto of National Institute of Educational Administration

简要回顾了中国大学校训产生发展的历史脉络,力图说明中国大学校训源于传统文化,深深地植根于中国传统文化的土壤里;就我国若干大学校训的文化价值传承取向作了分析,有些校训直接来自传统文化经典,有些校训是多部经典的结合,不少校训传承着院校自身的文化命脉,同时传承着中华传统文化经典之价值;着重探讨大学校训蕴涵的丰富而深刻的育人理念,如勉励师生明确为学之序,力求知行合一,激励师生遵循大学之道,厚德诚正而止于至善,昭示师生实事求是而追求真理,营造思想自由、兼容并包的优良文化氛围,唤起师生自强不息的精神,促进大学时中日新,引领学校追求卓越,进而影响社会的价值形成。中华传统文化是构建校训并使校训更具文化魅力的源泉,构建国家教育行政学院校训,也应立足传统文化,结合学院文化,精心凝练,发挥其独特的育人功能。

By reviewing the historical context of the development of the school motto of China＇s universities, this paper shows that the university motto is originated from and deeply rooted in Chinese traditional culture and that it carries on and forward the traditional culture in content and form. And an analysis of the cultural value orientation of the mottoes of prestigious universities indicates that some school mottoes are directly from the classics of traditional culture and others are the phraseology from more than one classic, and that many mottoes hand down the cultural heritage of the schools as well as the value of Chinese traditional culture classics. This article is focused on the rich and deep educational philosophy embodied in the school motto, such as encouraging teachers and students to make clear the priorities in the learning process and to unify their knowledge and practice, motivating them to follow the law of great learning so as to achieve perfection by enhancing their morality and honesty, calling on them to seek truth from facts, creating an all-embracing cultural atmosphere by advocating freedom of thought so as to inspire the spirit of unremitting effort and change the school with each passing day, and encouraging the school to strive for excellence and influence the formation of social values. The traditional Chinese culture, as the source of the school motto, invest the motto with more cultural appeal and the formulation of the motto of National Institute of Educational Administration should also be based on the spirit of the traditional culture so as to bring its educating function into full play.
