摘要
电影片名的翻译应重点强调译名对观众的影响,为此翻译时要考虑到观众的思维习惯、审美特点、情感因素、知识背景等,以动态对等和顺应理论为指导,做到译文符合汉语的语言习惯、文化心理。优秀的汉译名一般具有能高度概括全局内容的特点,在遣词造句上多用四字词组且好用比喻。在大众消费文化的影响下,译名适当地追求夸张,套用旧有译名以增加对观众的吸引力亦无可厚非,但要避免陷入庸俗化的泥潭。
Chinese translation of English film names is supposed to focus on its influence on the audience, so such translation should take the thinking habits, aesthetical characteristics, emotional factors and knowledge backgrounds of the audience into con- siderations and follow dynamic equivalence and adaptation theory so as to make the translated text conform to the language habits and cultural psychologies of Chinese language. Excellent Chinese translation of English film names can generally summarize the main idea and in wording it mainly uses four-character phrases and metaphors. Under the influence of mass consumer culture, the Chinese trans- lation of English film names exaggerates appropriately. Meanwhile, it applies old names translation to increase the attractiveness of the audience but avoids falling into the quagmire of vulgarization.
