Miscellaneous Notes on the Classics can be regarded as a stylistic paragon for critical interpretation of ancient texts.Ranging from a dozen words to more than a thousand,each of the over 5,000 reading notes incorporated in the book assembles the essence of traditional explanations of words in ancient books.The paper summarizes the prominent stylistic features of Miscellaneous Notes on the Classics from the perspective of the formation of these reading notes,namely,the three aspects of heading,quotation and textual research.
