After analyzing the whole processes of Virtual Manufacturing(VM), a new model framework for mechanical products is proposed, which is based on product definition unit(PDU). Using function abstraction and relating to product structure, this framework is composed of three levels of PDUs, feature PDU, part PDU, and assembly PDU. Various analysis models can be easily derived from this product model.
