Comments on the Trend of Criticizing the Qin Dynasty in the Early and Middle West-Han Dynasty

西汉前中期,中国思想界出现了一次历时较久的全民性的历史大反思,学术界称其为"过秦"思潮。这种思潮主要经历了从"论秦之过"到"倡汉之功",从"攻守之势"到"君民关系",从"法术治国"到"崇尚黄老"的三次转变,深刻地影响着西汉初年的政治格局、思想文化,其意义深远,对于当今社会主义现代化建设也不乏启迪作用。

In the early and middle West-Han Dynasty, the Chinese field of thoughts had a long time of historical introspection on the part of all the people which the field of academics call the trend of of criticizing the Qin Dynasty. This trend of thought went through three transitions： from discussing Qin＇s faults to Praisinging Han＇s achievements; from the offense and defense situation to the relationship between the emperor and his subjects, and from managing the country by means of law to admiring the Yellow Emperor and Laozi. These transitions had a profound influence on the politic structure and thoughts and culture. It can also be an inspiration for the socialist construction in the new periol.
