The development and current status of China＇s low-speed vehicle exhaust smoke standards are introduced. It explains problems in using the current smoke standards and puts forward suggestions or the ways to work out or revise and carry out the standards. It is also emphasized that promulgating more stringent mandatory standards and regulations is important in monitoring emission of inuse low-speed vehicles. Its purpose is to effectively control the emission pollution and promote the healthy development for low-speed vehicle industry.
