A Political Analysis of the Starting Point of Contemporary China’s Reform

The successful launching of China＇ s reform depended on a series of political factors ： the most important prerequisite was to proceed from the fundamental interests of the people and to adhere to the principle of ＂popular sovereignty＂ ; the establishment of the ideological line of seeking truth from facts became the source of ideas for the reform ; the concerted efforts of the upper, middle and lower strata in China＇ s original political structure formed a powerful driving force of the reform ; the initiative of the leaders and the Party＇ s collective leadership＇ s inheritance and development of the Party＇ s fine traditions initiated the first step of the reform and the combination of reform with opening to the outside world is one of the most successful experiences of China in this undertaking.
