Detailed analysis of crankshaft breakdown has been carried out for type 1110 diesel engine,which encountered such a failure when used as a power for small boats and in the course of its endurance overload test, and corresponding measures have been presented. The intensification test conducted for the engine after modification has proved the analysis of the cause for rupture and the countermeasures taken in modified design.
