The translational research on expert performance is an approach exploring the inner mechanism of the expertise skill acquisition. With this approach, the superior performances of experts naturally occurring in everyday contexts are firstly identified and then reproduced in the laboratory. The method of translational research on expert performance provides a feasible framework for the study of expertise skill. In this article , the brief histo- ry of the translational research , the definition of the translational research on expert performance and its necessity , the realization of the conversion are reviewed, as well as the further progresses of it.
