In the recent past a process which has been known for almost 100 years has again established itself. By using micro electronics with their corresponding advantages in control and regulating techniques, the process with ammonia which is descibed in this article, could now be realised under practical conditons. In particular the recovery of ammonia is the deciding step in realizing the process. The words 'ammonia treatment' are used for the treatment of cellulosic fibers with liquid ammonia (as a pure substance with a maximum of 0.5% water content). This article presents the various methods of treatment.
