梅葛是云南楚雄彝族自治州特有的少数民族曲艺之一,其历史悠久,影响面广,且内容丰富,风格多样,曲目的核心部分为主要吟唱史诗,被视为"彝家根谱"。梅葛流传区域广,分类依据多样化,其曲调众多、唱词经典、唱腔优美、演唱禁忌独特而神秘,是孕育楚雄彝剧音乐、新梅葛的音乐土壤。
Meige is one of the special folk art forms for minority nationalities in Chuxiong Yi people autonomous prefecture of Yunnan, it has the long history, wide influence, rich content and various kinds of style, and its hardcore is singing epic, regarded as the family tree of Yi people. The spreading area of Meige is wide with various kinds of style, and it has many songs of classical words, beautiful voice and the special mysterious singing tabu, becoming the music soil for breeding Chuxiong Yi people play and the new Meige music.
