日本在幕府统治时期所执行的外交不能适应新形势下的需要,导致日本面临重重危机,最终使幕府退出了历史舞台。幕府之后的明治政府为了树立其在国内外的新形象,试图改变日本所面临的困境,由此展开了积极的外交活动。中日建交是其积极外交活动的第一次成功的外交行动,也是日本外交风格变化的起点。中日建交过程中体现了这种积极的因素,并推动着日本去寻求改变现状。形成这种不同于幕府的外交风格,除了明治维新的推动,还与日本的文化有着必然的联系。

Shogunate＇s foreign policy could not adapt to the new situation.so that Japan was facing numerous crises.and ultimately the shogunate was overthrown.In order to get out of the difficult positions and establish its new image at home and abroad.the Meiji government began to carry out positive diplomatic actions.So Japan began to seek to establish diplomatic ties with China.This is its first active diplomatic action.and also it is the starting point for change in Japan＇s diplomatic style.This process contains positive factor and promotes Japanese government to make changes.The formation of this active diplomacy style（which is different from Shogunate＇s foreign policy） is not only linked to Meiji but also closely linked to Japanese culture.
