C-E translation of soft news often does not follow the traditional translation theory,but rather a bold adaption.Under the guidance of functionalist approaches,this article describes the translation of soft news and its features.Through the analysis of the characteristics of the C-E translation of soft news propagation,it points out that in order to achieve better information dissemination functions,soft news translation can overcome the limitations of traditional translation theory and make appropriate adjustment,addition and deletion,etc.Functionalist approaches can provide a theoretical basis for these phenomena.
