Based on design and production practice of a steel plant changing R5 250 mm square billet caster into R8 000 mm square and round billet one of a steel plant, the paper elaborates selection of the easter＇s technical parameters and main equipment structure, adapting to the old plant＇s transformation, making the square and round caster reach domestic advanced level.
