From Guwei Zhai to Tongyuan Jun:A Case Study on the Changes of Northern Song Policy to Xixia

北宋御夏政策的转变是宋夏关系史研究中的重要内容。古渭寨的设置是北宋对西夏"和戎"政策的反映,王韶对古渭寨的积极经营则是北宋御夏政策转变的开始,熙宁五年古渭寨升格为通远军是北宋御夏政策从保守到积极转折的一个标志。这也是我们认识北宋御夏政策的转变的一个绝好个案。

The changes of Northern Song policy to Xixia are the important study content of the rela-tionship between Song and Xixia Dynasties. Here is a good case study on it. The foundation of Guwei Zhai reflected the neighborhood policy of Northern Song Dynasty which began to change when Wang Shao was actively engaged in business of Guwei Zhai. It is a turning sign of Northern Song policy to Xixia from conservative to positive that Guwei Zhai was upgraded to Tongyuan Jun in the 5th year of Xining.
