In the modern college English teaching,how to improve students＇ ability to master and use English flexibly has been paid attention by the teachers,who have attached more and more importance to the training of cross-cultural awareness.This paper analyses the importance of crosscultural awareness in the college English teaching and the specialties of English teaching in the independent college and discusses the strategies of training students＇ cross-cultural awareness.
