春秋末期鲁国的曾参是孔子的弟子中很重要的一位,他以孝著称,提出了"吾日三省吾身"的修养方法,认为"忠恕"是孔子"一以贯之"的思想,提出"慎终,追远,民德归厚","犯而不校(计较)"等主张。相传《大学》为他所著,后来他被尊为"宗圣"。
