Appreciation of Glassware Kept by the Museum of Chengde Mountain Resort

避暑山庄博物馆馆藏玻璃器主要包括碗、盘、盖罐、壶、杯、花浇等实用器皿和花瓶、花插、灯具等装饰品两大类。这些宫廷玻璃器主要来源有三种,即清宫玻璃厂生产制作的御用品、外国使节进献的礼品和清代各级官员从海关购买觐上的贡品。本文仅选六件藏品做简要介绍,以飨读者。

The glass utensils kept by the Museum of Chengde Mountain Resort include two categories, practical utensils, such as glass bowls, plates, jars, pots and cups, and utensils for decoration like flower vases, flower holders and lamps, etc. All these imperial glassware comes from three main sources, namely, products for the emperor made by the imperial glassworks, gifts to the emperor by the foreign diplomats and the tributes to the emperor by the officials at all levels of the Qing Dynasty from the Customs. The following is a brief introduction to the six elected collection.
