摘要
利用《点石斋画报》进行文化史研究,可以揭示新文化史研究法中的文本分析法、文本交互分析法、跨文本分析法等方法对媒体研究的重要性,以及文本和语境分析的结合对解释各种论述间的矛盾和不一致所提供的裨助。前人对《点石斋画报》的研究中所存在的暧昧和吊诡,在一定程度上也是画报文本的复杂性和图文间的张力等问题的反映。作为晚清出现的一种新式媒体,《点石斋画报》无疑展示了视觉的现代性。即使画师要配合文字撰述者来"借书画为劝惩",整体而言,画报文本还是吊诡地兼具教化目的与颠覆潜力。在完整的检索系统支持下,对《点石斋画报》的全文本研究,有助于图文文本的交互分析;而进一步将《点石斋画报》与其他后起的画报对照比较以作跨文本研究,则可显出前者的特性在于它捕捉了新闻大众化前夕和大变迅即来临的境况。结合文本分析和语境分析来探究《点石斋画报》及其时代和社会背景,以揭示历史的文本性和文本的历史性,当可窥见画报如何反映和表述19、20世纪之交处于现代转变边缘的中国对现代性的迎拒挣扎。在探讨转型期中国的图文诠释时,我们也看到随现代性而来的各种问题。
The Dianshizhai Pictorial,as a new medium emerged in the late Qing,embodied the modernity of visuality. Its content inundated with novel and strange things had the most shocking power.When the textuality of history and the historicity of text are brought to light by combining textual and contextual analyses in the exploration of the Dianshizhai Pictorial and its socio-historical background,we may realize better how the pictorial reflected and re - presented China s struggle between welcoming and resisting modernity at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries when the nation was on the verge of modern changes.In studying the pictorial and literary interpretations of China in transformation,we may also perceive the problems that came along with modernity.All these phenomena and their revelation historical significance are yet to be deliberated in depth and studied in detail.
