Selection of Early Maturity Oriental Melon Cultivar Shijitian

世纪甜是经过对来源于东北的甜帅香瓜变异单株进行5个世代的系谱法选择育成的早熟薄皮甜瓜新品种。其成熟果实黄白色,椭圆形,耐贮运;口感甜脆,可溶性固形物含量13.3%,平均单果质量400g,每公顷产量45000kg左右;抗病性、抗逆性较强。适宜于山西省及周边地区早熟栽培。

Shijitian is a new early maturing oriental melon cuhivar bred from the variant plant of Tianshuai muskmelon from northeast of China with pedigree method through selection for five generations. The mature fruit is elliptic shape with yellowish white skin and good shelf-life. The flesh is sweet and crispy with soluble solid content of 13.3%. Its average fruit weight is about 400 g and the yield about 45 000 kg/hm2. The cuhivar has the resistance to diseases and adversity. It is suitable for early-ripening cultivation in oriental melon planting regions in Shanxi province and for areas with similar ecological conditions.
