In the early days of the Pacific war,Japanese army captured 76 Allied generals ranking above Brigadier General. From 1942 to 1944,Japanese forces moved the high-ranking POW from Manila to Taiwan, and at last to Fengtian. This change of POW custody inherently accorded with the entire war situation, and POW became an intrinsic part of the war.The migration process and locations indicate that the Japanese army attempted to take Allied high-ranking POW as a bargaining chip for desperate struggle. This also shows that the prisoners' struggle, suffering and sacrifice is one of the many decisive factors for the Pacific victory.
