Sunnary of Dialect Research in Chenzhou Area

郴州地区的方言研究大致可以划分为三个阶段:第一阶段从上世纪30年代到60年代,研究限于单纯的方言材料记录;第二阶段从80年代后期开始,一直持续到本世纪初期,对湘南土话的研究从起始到日渐兴盛;第三阶段从90年代中期到本世纪初期,是郴州境内客家话、赣方言、官话以及综合研究的发展时期。

Dialect research in Chenzhou area can be divided into three stages. The first stage is confined to the simple dialect material recording from the thirties to sixties of last century. The second stage began from late eighties and lasted till the beginning of this century. During this period, the research of southern Hunan dialects became more and more popular. The third stage started from the middle of ninties. It is a period for the development of the researches of all the dialects in Chenzhou including Hakka, Jiangxi dialect and mandrin.
