刑罚执行工作是监狱工作的核心。监狱作为国家的刑罚执行机关,以刑罚执行为其职能。通过刑罚执行,实现对罪犯的惩罚与改造,最终实现预防和减少犯罪的目的。面对当前构建和谐社会的要求,刑罚执行现行机构设置、减刑比例、保外就医中存在的问题等影响刑罚执行工作作用的发挥,需要进行"大处(科)室制"、减刑规范化、罪犯疾病医疗社会化等项改革,进而充分发挥刑罚执行工作作用。

The execution of criminal punishment work is core of the jail work.As the national criminal punishment execution institution,the jail take punishment execution as its function.Through the execution of punishment,realizes the criminal penalty and the transformation,realizes goal of prevention and reduced crime finally.Facing the current request of the harmonious society＇s construction,problems which exists in the present organization establishment of punishment execution,the sentence commuting proportion,release on bail for medical treatment,and so on,influence punishment execution work function,needs to carry on reform in ＂the main（branch） room system＂,standardization in the sentence commuting,the criminal medical service socialization,and so on,then fully display function of punishment execution work.
