In the past 20 years,a series of successful reform and improvement on urban environment, infrastructure, and especially public space, made a Columbia city"Medellin",once known for narco-drug's war, urban violence, guerrilla and paramilitary forces, gains its today's appellation as"Colombia's Everlasting Spring City". This article assessed three hypothesis(the beginning and roots of the town, combination of educational strategy and urban planning, and the natural beauties around the city) to elaborate the underlying causes of this success, and particularly discussed the unique role of"paisas"(as people from Medellin are called) and their strong regionalism.
