The Designing Process and Detailed Introduction of "Gap——The Cry from the Old Town"

介绍第47届国际风景园林师联合会(IFLA)国际大学生设计竞赛荣获三等奖的作品"缝隙—来自老城的呐喊"的设计过程和细节,阐明选地苏州平江地块的出发点,"缝隙"立意的由来,如何切入深化主题,在设计过程中遇到的困难和瓶颈。最终通过合作伙伴和指导老师的共同研究深化,确定了调和人与人、人与自然、人与历史之间的"缝隙",让平江历史街区这座老街坊焕发新的生命力的理念,使之成为一座和谐共荣、生态、愉快的街区,在城市化的大潮中不被湮没,从而得到新生,作为一件活物而非古董得以存续。

The designing process and details of ＂Gap—The Cry from the Old Town＂, the third prize winning project of the 47th IFLA Student Design Competition, is introduced in this paper. The considerations of choosing Pingjiang area of Suzhou, the origin of the ＂gap＂ conception, how to deepen the theme, and the difficulties and bottlenecks encountered in the design process are explained. Through the joint research and deepening by cooperation partners and guiding teacher, the conception to reconcile the ＂gap＂ between people, man and nature, and man and history, to bring new vitality to the old neighborhoods of the historical district of Pingjiang is determined, so as to make it a harmonious and common prosperous, ecological, and pleasant district, having a new birth during the urbanization, and existing as a living thing rather than antiques.
