Difference Between Eastern and Western Garden from the Way of Water Management

东西方造园存在着许多方面的差异,根源在于两种文化的不同,而对理水这一造园方式,可以说是两种造园体系中最大不同点的体现。该文从水体本身的特点出发,由此展开对东西方传统造园中理水的论述比较,以便能更加清晰理性地看出,在东西方两种不同造园风格和形态表达的背后,潜藏着彼此不同的文化哲理和设计观念。

The management of water which is the largest differences between the two cultures of Eastern and Western garden in system of garden.In this paper,through comparing the traditional management of water which originated from the orient to west,it is based on the characteristics of the water body itself.The different cultures philosophy and design concept is expressed in the east and west behind the two different styles of gardens clearly.
