The Diaries of Jane Sommers is undoubtedly a masterpiece in the late periods of writing of Doris Lessing,the Nobel Prize winner.It explains and enriches the connotation of feminism through special characters and unique art styles.However,compared with the other book The Golden Notebook,such significance of this works is often neglected by people.The author of this essay holds that the feministic idea of The Diaries of Jane Sommers surpasses the explanation of other feministic ideas in the same period and therefore reaches a higher level.Further reading and analysis of the works help us approach Doris Lessing more closely and understand the value of the works more deeply.In other words,a deep analysis of the works not only helps readers get better understanding of the outstanding aspects of Doris Lessing,but also helps the development and better thinking of feminism and benefits social harmony.
