A Survey of the Usage of Chinese Words among High School Students in Singapore

本文尝试把社会语言学和方言学研究方法结合起来,对新加坡中学生华语词语使用情况进行调查,并分析相关数据,探讨新加坡华语词语使用现状及其形成的原因。文章指出,新加坡华语词语使用越来越趋同于中国普通话,但新加坡华语正处于十字路口。论文还以实际观察作为参照,说明本项调查结果是语言使用现状的真实反映。

By combining the social linguistic and dialectological method,this article attempts to make a survey on the usage of Chinese words among high school students in Singapore and explores the causes of the current situation of using Chinese language in Singapore.It indicates that the using of Chinese words in Singapore is more and more assimilated to that of Putonghua in China,but now Chinese in Singapore is at a crossroad.In light of the observation,the article also proves the reliability of the survey.
