Abstract A mine water disaster is a natural disaster often occurred in mine construction and production. Therefore a prevention and control of the mine water is a very important safety object. A construction of the water dam chamber for isolation between horizontal and up and down seam in a mining district is one of the comment water prevention and control methods. This paper has a brief introduction of a construction, water injection test and concrete dam wall stress test of a high pressure water dam chamber. The paper also introduced the construction experiences of the chamber, the technical information from the pressure test and stress test which could provide a scientific bases for the new design of the chamber.
