Max Spiker was a famous American vocal educationist.The book ＂Spicker Masterpieces of Vocalization（Soprano）＂ is a collection of artistic vocalizations from great masters as Giovauni Basttista Lamperti,Sibel,Narva and J.Comcone.It was compiled with scientific and advanced ways,blending with the essence of many artists.It summarizes a set of practice courses of relative integrity.He pointed out that an alternate practice of the vocalizations and the solfeges could cultivate pure and wonderful vowels,and said that syllabic consonant could cultivate clear pronunciation.The practice value of the vocalizations does not only require people to reach a certain mature height but to find an approach to the improvement on the original basis through many kinds of practice.The real power and correct development of the sound are supposed to have adjustments of the sound and controls of the technique.As for the music collection,the book thinks more about conditions of the European learners.And for Chinese vocal learners,it has some defects.Therefore,when practicing,we Chinese singers should absorb the vocal experiences and requirements of famous Chinese vocal educationists,understand the essence of the vocalizations,and be familiar with and study them,and then reach a goal that technique and music complement each other.
