Benzotriazole derivatives are an important type of multifunctional lubricating additives, including compound agents and single agents. And based upon active elements, the multifunctional action mechanisms of single agents are sorted and summarized such as tribology, antioxidation, anticorrosion, antirust and dispersity. Then, the future outlook of their research is viewed. It will be helpful to the study of benzotriazole derivatives additives.
