Craft Characteristics of Huizhou Folk Embroidery

徽州刺绣,是古徽州的一项传统民间工艺,现已失传。徽商家庭十分重视对女子刺绣能力的培养和锻炼。徽绣题材广泛,内容丰富,具有反映古徽州风土人情的特色。对于徽绣特色的研究史料记载很少,主要通过对现存徽绣遗物进行研究,并引起世人对徽绣工艺的关注。

Huizhou embroidery is a traditional folk craftwork of ancient Huizhou,which has been lost.Huizhou merchants attach great importance to developing the needlework of their daughters and wives staying at home.Local conditions and customs of ancient Huizhou are shown in Huizhou embroidery,which is extensive in subject matters and rich in content.As very few historical materials about Huizhou embroidery have been recorded,we mainly carry out our research by means of the existing relics of Huizhou embroidery,hoping to attract people＇s attention to Huizhou embroidery.
