叶燮是继刘勰之后中国文学批评史上又一位理论大家。他的《原诗》是继《文心雕龙》后又一部系统的论诗理论著作。布瓦洛是17世纪法国古典主义的代言人,《诗的艺术》一书,集中体现了他的诗学思想。叶燮与布瓦洛分别作为中国和法国的著名作家和理论家,两人的诗学思想有一致之处,但由于置身于不同的文化历史土壤和生活环境之中,两人的诗学思想又存在相当大的差异性。
