摘要
John Gottfried von Herder is a very influential German philosopher, linguist and translation theorist. His translation works and theories exert profound impact on translation theories not only in Germany but also in the whole west countries. This paper aims at briefly introducing Herder＇s translation theories to have a thorough understanding of Herder as a translation theorist.
约翰．赫尔德是一位极具影响力的德国哲学家、语言学家和翻译理论家.在语言的起源上，赫尔德反对语言神授说，坚持人的悟性创造语言这一观点．此观点奠定了赫尔德的翻译思想的基石。赫尔德开创了“阐释”的翻译理论，推崇“变通”的翻译方法，并强调了译者阐释作品时应具有创造性，其翻译作品及翻译理论不仅对德国而且对西方翻译理论都产生了深刻的影响。赫尔德的语言哲学和翻译哲学思想深刻地启发了洪堡特和施莱尔马赫，其思想火花直接促进了现代语言学和阐释学的诞生。本文着重概述赫尔德的翻译思想，以期对赫尔德作为翻译理论家有深入的了解。
