从文化内涵解析《红楼梦》两种英译本翻译策略的选择

On translator＇s choice of translation strategy by comparing two English versions of Hongloumeng in the perspective of cultural context

译者的翻译策略一直是翻译研究所关注的问题。对于文学作品的翻译，很多人仍然坚持译者采取的策略应当使译文尽可能最大程度地忠实于原文这一准则。然而，译者在翻译实践中会常常违反“忠实于原文”的原则。本文通过比较《红楼梦》英译本杨宪益夫妇译本和霍克斯译本，在处理某些文化内容上所采取的不同翻译策略，从文本外的因素分析探讨了译者采取不同翻译策略的原因，并指出翻译策略是译者根据翻译情境所做出的选择，不同的翻译情境会导致不同的选择．

By comparing the two English versions of Hongloumeng, this paper discusses the reasons why the translators choose different translation strategies in dealing with the cultural context, and points out that translation strategy is the translator＇s choice in different translational situations.
