Embarrassment over Consumption Era——Seeing Beijing in Beijing Literature in the New Century from Consumption Spectacle

新世纪以来的城市文学都在遭遇消费时代的形塑和挤压。在消费景观下,考察城市文学中不同的城市所呈现的对这股潮流不同的接受样态,有利于完善和丰富城市文学中城市的形象。其中作为承载太多历史和传统的古老城市北京,面对消费时代所营造的物质丰盛、欲望膨胀的消费景观时,表现出的却是一种从内到外的尴尬。这种尴尬是城市固有的文化传统和文化心理对消费时代冲击的排斥,是物质丰盛下的精神匮乏与个体认同的危机。

＂As a special form,since the new century,urban literature has been shaped and squeezed by the power produced by the action of consumerism in the era of post-industry.Studying and investigating the different reactions of different cities to the consumption situation is helpful to enlarge and deepen the image of some cities in the urban literature.Among these cities,Beijing,an old city,with long history and tradition,exhibits an acute embarrassment as far as it faces the great spectacle of consumerism with rich goods and expanded desire.The embarrassment is showing an exclusive emotion and is posed by means of some inherent culture and psychology,and it is an identity crisis caused by deficient spirit under the condition of affluent material property.
