摘要
语用学和认知语言学都关注语言理解中推理的作用,但它们的侧重点却有所不同。认知语言学认为言语交际中的推理与激活人们大脑中的概念结构有关,强调概念的激活和映现在语言理解和推理中的主导作用;而语用学则更关注语境和语用原则的作用。本文在讨论推理的语用和认知研究的基础上,分析转喻认知在语用推理中的作用,探讨指称锁定、言语行为和含义推导的转喻认知机理。
Meaning inference is a common core concerned for by both pragmaticians and cognitive linguists,but they have different proposals.Cognitive linguists put more emphases on the activation of conceptual structures as interpretive guideposts,while pragmaticians focus on the principles of inferring the meaning from conversations,and put more emphases on context of language use.Based on the cognitive and pragmatic studies of inferencing,this article explores the role of metonymy in utterance interpretation,revealing the conceptual schema of pragmatic inference which underlies the way we understand reference assignment,speech act and conversational implicature.
