This research uses the Mann - Whitney U test and the rank - sum test to give a difference analysis of the data of the real estate sales in Sichuan Province before and after the 5.12 earthquake. The results indicate that the sales are significantly d}fferent because 5.12 earthquake has had a short - term impact on the real estate sales in Si- chuan Province.
