摘要
根据认知语义学的隐喻理论,语言中词义的延伸主要通过隐喻等认知思维方式实现。运用隐喻理论进行大学英语词汇及阅读理解教学,可降低记忆词汇的繁重度,提升学生阅读理解能力,让学生了解中国与英语国家在语言文化上的共性及差异性,培养学生的跨文化思维意识。
As noted by the theory of metaphor in the field of cognitive semantics,extension of words meaning in language use is mainly achieve by the mechanism of metaphor.The theory of metaphor can be applies in the teaching of college English,particularly in the teaching of vocabulary and reading comprehension,to help lighten students' burden of memorizing English words and enhance their ability to comprehend English contexts;in the meantime,it serves to familiarize students with both linguistic and cultural similarities and discrepancies between china and English-speaking countries,and to nurture students' awareness of comparative thinking.
