A Comparative Analysis of Hui Xiang Ou Shu and its English Translations——A Perspective of Textual Metafunction

语篇功能主要由三个语义系统构成:主位系统,信息系统,衔接系统。贺知章的《回乡偶书》一诗原文和其英译文,在主位结构和信息中心等方面,非常相似,而在衔接的表现方面,则存在明显的差别。说明主位和信息结构可以作为分析评价古诗英译文的标准之一。

Textual Metafunction is composed of thematic structures,information and cohesion.By comparing Hui Xiang Ou Shu and its English translations,the conclusion can be drawn that the poem in Chinese is quite similar to its English translation in terms of thematic structures and information.However,they differ a lot in terms of cohesion.Meanwhile,it also shows that the thematic structures and information can be adopted as one of the standards to evaluate the English translations of ancient poems.
