The basic concepts of arch function and stiffness method for conversion mode are introduced in detail and the calculation method of stiffness method for conversion mode lays the foundation for calculating all（different span,different pier and unlimited holes） non-hinged arches;meanwhile,the problems to be solved or diverged in arch design are stated in detail.
