On English Compounds from the View of Conceptual Integration Theory

从概念整合理论的角度来探析英语复合词的生成机制,认为英语复合词是词汇化的结果,因而有着复杂的内部语义结构。英语复合词的形成过程符合概念整合的理论原则和运行机制,通过述谓结构空间和语义元素空间的整合构成具有独立语义的英语复合词,这是语义构建的过程,也是人类认知的结果。

English compounds tend to be studied in nature from the view of Conceptual Integration Theory,and English compounds can be regarded as the result of lexicalization.Therefore,English compounds have complicated semantic structure.The formation of English compounds is correspondent to the principle and mechanism of Conceptual Integration Theory.The space of predicative structure and the space of semantic elements are integrated into the English compounds with unique meaning,which is the course of meaning construction,and the result of human cognition.
